Resume road trip with a 120 mile journey south on Interstate 35 via Denton, Fort Worth and Dallas traveling through delightful countryside.
Situated in Denton County and founded in 1846, retaining historic dwellings around the towns square and town areas. Worth the stroll around to view and visit the magnificent 1896 Courthouse of Romanesque architecture.
Located in North Central Texas the city is a culture gateway into the American West established in 1849 as an army post over looking the river Trinity. Even today Fort Worth still embraces its Western heritage and traditional architecture and design, being home to the Kimbell Art Museum. There is so much to explore and visit in the shopping areas and the cowboy town. Walk into the Stockyard National Historic District go into the cowboy coliseum walk around its indoor rodeo arena move onto the restored Grapevine Vintage Railway and Station. Walk up to the Billy Bobs Texas the worlds largest honky tonk, inside the building are 36 bars and eating houses plus a large gift shop with 2 dance floors and stages for the live entertainment. A separate Concert room for top country and western singers having a wall of fame on its surrounding walls containing photos of top artists Ray Charles and Ringo Starr too just a few.
Yet again a large modern city just drive around to discover the interesting places but it does retain a historic downtown district around the Elm Street.
