Leave the Mill House Motel and travel back onto highway 50 travel for 9 miles, turn left onto route 340 then 341 for 7 miles via the old mining towns of Silvercity and Goldhill in Storey County. Real Wild West townships, baron land and run down shacks, then enter into the city of Virginia.
Virgina City is where you get the feel of a real cowboy town from the past, still a busy working attraction with the original historic dwellings where you can stroll around for a few hours and enjoy the exciting atmosphere. Before leaving the area visit the famous Boot Hill cemetery been altered a little to attract visitors.
Continue via Carson for 32 miles take route 341 onto 342 for 6 miles turn right highway 50 west travel 10 miles turn left route 393 for 12 miles then turn right follow the signs into Genoa on route 206.
A small quaint wild west town, take a stroll on the main street and be transported back in a place that time has not changed since it was built in 1851. Visit the old dwellings and explore Nevada’s The Oldest Thirst Parlor still serving the local brews.
Explore the town area which has old historic buildings, the Nugget Casino and Charles Muller’s Hotel with British type names great site with many more to discover. A must visit is the Old Railway Museum and repair shop which houses many vintage steam rolling stock. Return to the Mill House Motel take advantage of their facilities. Road trips today only 64 miles.
