Hornsea Mere is at the top side of the town being a freshwater lake with a diverse range of swamp and fen plants some of the largest in Yorkshire. The mere is a great centre for bird watching and fishing plus a tourist attraction for boating activities and trips.

A seaside resort town in the bay south of Flamborugh Head on the North Sea coast located in the East Riding. It is a major port for its shellfish but only a minor one for fish in general with daily fishing trips from the harbour. The harbour is full of fishing boats and circled by tourist’s shops and eateries with views of the sea. The fine views of the town can be seen from the beach area with the Priory and Town Hall being points of interest.
Each year there is the Hull to Bridlington Vintage Vehicle Rally with a grand display of old buses, Lorries, cars and bikes a moving mass of history. It is held on a site on the Sewerby road.
