Rotterdam and Districts
Arrive at the Hook of Holland Sea Port and travel 20km west to Hague. Located in the south of Holland having a mix of old and new dwellings in the town. Hofvjver and Binnehof are districts, with small streets in the town centre, dating back to the middle Ages, which contain many 18th century buildings and boasts large numbers of luxurious country residences. Also in the same area is a 15th century Church, the impressive 16th century Town Hall and several 17th century Palaces. The new buildings are many high rise skyscrapers housing government offices and commercial businesses. Also home of 2 district Beach Resorts, the most popular being Scheveningen.
Continue journey 10km east into Delft is located between Hague and Rotterdam known for its historic town centre and canals being home to the world famous 17th century Delft Earthenware, Points of interest are City Hall, The Eastern Gate and Nieuwe Kerk Church then explore the beautiful town centre.
Continue journey to Rotterdam so much to see in this Port being one of the largest and busiest in the world, known as the Gateway to Europe, a major commercial centre on the North Sea. The ports area is of two parts, the old style located in Delftsevvart having 19th century and earlier architecture having a beautiful windmill viewed on the side of the Steiger canal and within the town. Visit and view the tower of the 1660 St Lawrence Church and museums with many other attractions, walk or use the water taxi. The new style Rotterdam as great shopping areas with major centres explore the water front with the views of the skyline architecture and the magnificent bridge plus the contemporary architecture of the Cubic Houses Situated in the Zeeland district lies a artificial beach set up in between the bridge of Erasmus and Willems.
Continue journey travel southeast 52 km to Breda an ex fortified city in southern Holland close to the Belgium boarder, having the famous Breda Brewery and major historic buildings boarded by canals and narrow streets with a market place. Visit and explore the many places of interest, 1547 Gothic Grote Kerk Church, City Hall, 16th century Spanjaarpscat Water Gate, Grote Market, 12th century Castle, 13th century Beginhof collection of buildings plus the museums and harbour area. Stay over for 1 night.
