Harpur Hill is a small village on the outskirts of Buxton, used by the RAF in 1938 as an underground munitions store. The disused tunnels were used as a mushroom farm and then as a cold store for cheese and many of the bunkers can still be seen in the surrounded hillside.

Opposite the Rugby club at 1, Heath View is Clover Fields Touring Park which is a great place to hook up and prepare to tour the surrounding countryside.

It is a family owned “adult only” park ran by Steve and Jan, with a 3 pennants AA award. It has 25 pitches in a peaceful location, yet still within a short drive of Buxton. They have a few animals on site including Donkey’s, Lhama’s and lots of ducks. The facilities are first class with plenty of hook ups for water and electric and a modern toilet block and waste facilities.

Regional Winners for the Heart of England 2013.

Rest assured you will have a pleasant stay.
