The Distillery District
Founded in 1832 and situated east of Toronto Downtown, located in the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. It contains 40 historic Victorian buildings on 10 streets with numerous cafes, restaurants and shops. There is so much to view and explore within this unique set of historic buildings.
It has a massive skyline with large areas of skyscrapers with their reflecting glass. There are 600 retail outlets, 150 bars and restaurants and 7 hotels plus indoor malls with the old district featuring many heritage buildings.
Still in the downtown core, being a tourists dream with stunning views and situated on the Northern Shore of Lake Ontario. View the Amsterdam Bridge and many boats, with the famous CN Tower in the foreground. Stroll round the Music Gardens and Urban Beach, just a wonderful idea.
CN tower situated in the downtown area is the world’s largest free standing structure and ranks in the modern 7 wonders and was competed in 1976. Take the glass paneled elevator to the height of 1135 feet and step into an observation terrace to see the wonders of the skyline. There are indoor and outdoor observation areas and a level above with a glass paneled revolving restaurant.
